Coverage includes the epidemiology of these diseases, their management, pathogenesis, detection via conventional and rapid diagnostic techniques, and biological hazards associated with certain viruses. Readers will also find a discussion of those specific viruses judged of greatest public health concern in different geographical regions. The report closes with guidelines for surveillance, prevention and control and advice on preparing services and resources for emergency outbreaks of these diseases.
