| Summary, etc | As the smallest tree seedling grows, she thinks about all the possibilities open to her even if she isn't chosen to be a Christmas tree. The yearning of this seedling is really the yearning that we all feel: the impatience of children waiting to grow up, the frenzied yearning of adults to accomplish ever more. The seedling in Janie Jasin's inspirational story is impatient, too, longing for the day when she will be tall enough and beautiful enough to become a Christmas tree. Full color.
