Beginning with v. 34, every fourth volume is a "Topics Volume" devoted to literary topics that cannot be covered under the author approach used in the rest of the series.

Vols. for -1991 contain a cumulative author and nationality index covering all of the literature series in each volume, as well as a cumulative title index in first vol. published each year; 1992- have a separately issued annual cumulative title index.
