The book with the title “Guide to ISO 9001: 2000 - Implementation, Improvement tools & Techniques, Transition to T2M & Six Sigma” authored by Dr. A.K. Chakraborty, P.K. Basu and Prof. Sadhan Ch. Chakravarty expresses the ISO 9001 : 2000 version in a subtle way so that it becomes easier for a quality professional to implement such system in any organisation he/she is associated with. It gives quite a large number of examples of necessary documents, including some typical forms and formats, which is expected to help the quality professional in the implementation of the Quality Management System. The book also provides some typical examples of some of the simple statistical tools with actual case studies. Another important aspect of the book is the stress given on the real spirit of the ISO 9001 quality system standard during implementation. The book also guides a company in launching other competitive quality initiatives from an ISO 9001 platform. In its present set up the book contains only 13 chapters giving a reader understanding on ‘how to’ implement ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System standard with a guideline for progressing towards higher echelons once the basic QMS is implemented in the right spirit.
