The fourth session of the WHO Expert Committee on nursing was held in Geneva from 6 to 11 October 1958.
Dr. P. Dorolle, acting on behalf of the Director-General, welcomed the Committee. He referred on the importance of the subject for discussion in relation to the programme and stated that the effectiveness of a public health service is dependent on well-qualified personnel, of which nursing is the largest group.
