The volume also contains the Sendai Declaration of Aging Populations in the Context of Urbanization, which was adopted on 15 September 1988, Japan's Day of Respect for the Elderly, and which reaffirmed that an age integrated society, with true solidarity among the generations, must be an important objective of socio-economic development.
