The Econometrics of international trade
Rigorous and systematic account of the pure theory of international trade, based on a series of lectures delivered at Massachusetts Institutes of Technology. The author, being deliberately selective, has focused attention on a few fundamental theorems which, collectively. form a minimal tool kit for any economist wishing to work in the field.
The material is divided into four parts, following conventional order:
1. Traditional theory of barter trade, 2. Gains from trade and international investment, 3. connection between trade and money, 4. Analysis of trade between underemployed economics.
Appendix of the chapter is a list of problems and a list of references.
The Problems designs to confirm the readers understanding of each preceding chapter, also often cover topics of intrinsic interest which are not handled in the book.
In later chapters the distinction between chapter and problems becomes less marked, and frequently only a method for attacking the problem is indicated. solutions to the more novel and therefore more difficult problems are given.
